Leukaemia Busters
the Children's Leukaemia Research Charity
Leukaemia Busters is a UK-based registered charity whose objective it is to develop new antibody-based magic bullet type treatments for children and adults with currently incurable forms of leukaemia.
This is achieved firstly through a high quality research and development programme to produce and evaluate new antibody-based drugs and secondly through clinical trials in patients to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of such newly emerging drugs.
The first in a series from Meridian Television (2004) featuring the work of Leukaemia Busters and its intimate relationship with Simon Flavell, the ten year old who lost his fight against leukaemia in 1990 after giving the charity its name and logo.
An animation explaining how Leukaemia Busters pioneered antibody-based treatments work in killing leukaemia cells.
