The European Clinical Trials Directive that came into effect May 2005 threatened to derail the clinical trial efforts of small organisations and academic institutions involved in clinical trial work. The charity’s honorary Scientific Directors took their concerns to the European parliament in November 2003 and lobbied MEPs and Commissioners involved in the new legislation.
